Secretary Shinseki Visits

On April 12, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki visited Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center as part of a mid-Atlantic tour including stops in Philadelphia, PA; Wilmington, DE; and Fort Dix, NJ. Serving as the seventh Secretary of the Department, Secretary Shinseki is a Retired U.S. Army General who served as Army Chief of Staff for four years. Full Story

“I want to help Veterans.” Stanley McDougal, a 52-year-old Cold War era Veteran, repeats this phrase or some variation of it often. McDougal lives with schizophrenia. Through his VA benefits and a unique relationship with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Chapter 845, Downingtown, Pa., he financially supports himself while working at a job he loves. Full Story
