Entering the Coatesville Campus
All employees, Veterans, volunteers, vendors and contractors will need to show a photo ID and will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon entry to the campus. Our response to the coronavirus requires us to adjust access to the campus and the way we deliver some of our services and programs until further notice. COVID-19 screening will occur at the parking lot D entrance. The South Entrance or Front Hill entrance from Business Route 30 and the main gate are closed.

No Emergency Room at Coatesville VAMC
There is no Emergency Room at the Coatesville VAMC. If you develop severe symptoms of COVID-19, go to the nearest Emergency Room or call 9-1-1. According to the CDC, trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion, inability to wake or stay awake, or bluish lips or face. Urgent Care is available during the hours listed below. If you feel sick or have a health care question, call 610-384-7711, and choose option #3.

The Coatesville VA Medical Center Urgent Care Center Hours
The Urgent Care Center is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on weekends and federal holidays. If you are arriving with COVID-19 symptoms, call 610-384-7711 and choose option #3 before departing. For a medical or mental health emergency, please call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room. The Suicide Prevention Veterans Crisis Line is 1-800-273-8255, then, press 1.

Appointments
For the quickest access to care and to change an appointment, call us at 610-383-0239 before visiting any of our locations for your health care needs.

Virtual and telephone appointments will continue to be offered for the majority of routine visits as appropriate. These options will be discussed when Veterans call to schedule an appointment. To get started with telehealth appointments, call the National VA Telehealth Help Desk at 866-651-3280 or 703-234-4483 and then press 1 or visit https://mobile.va.gov.

Face-to-face appointments will be available to Veterans who have urgent and time-sensitive needs, if their provider feels it is medically necessary. Extended clinic hours have been cancelled until further notice.

Walk-in Care
Veterans are advised to call in advance for walk-in care, if practical, or to schedule an appointment. Walk-in care is limited at the Coatesville campus and the Spring City and Delaware County clinics. Call the nurse's call line at 610-384-7711 and choose option #3 if you do not have an appointment and need something that day.

Not Feeling Well? Call First.
Veterans with symptoms of coronavirus, should call us at 610-384-0239 before visiting your local medical center or clinic. The nurse will review your symptoms, provide care recommendations and suggest next treatment steps, if necessary.

Relocated Clinics
All Primary Care, Geriatrics and Extended Care Primary Care (GEC PC), and Mental Health outpatient clinics are now held in building 3. Veterans should go directly to building 3 after confirming their appointments.

Limited Pharmacy Pickups
Prescriptions will continue to be mailed to Veteran's home. As a reminder, please request refills at least two weeks before you run out of your prescription.

The pharmacy pick-up window is only be available to patients with urgent needs. "Urgent needs" is defined as Veterans who have been seen in urgent care or when service chiefs and pharmacy chiefs have coordinated special pick-up arrangements for the Veteran. All other prescriptions will be delivered by mail.

VA Copayments and the Agent Cashier Window
The Agent Cashier window is not accepting in-person payment of VA copay bills. You may pay your bill using one of three methods:

  • Pay online directly from your bank account or by debit or credit card on the secure pay.gov website.
  • Pay by phone using a debit or credit card by calling us at 610-384-7711, ext. 4445 or ext. 4442. We can accept phone payments Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
  • Pay by mail by sending your payment stub, along with a check or money order made payable to "DVA" to the address below. Be sure to include your account number on the check or money order.

Volunteers and Donations
Voluntary Services is accepting men's clothing donations. All donations must be scheduled in advance with the Voluntary Service office. Please call 610-384-7711, ext. 4228 to schedule. Please click here for other donation needs.

Events
We have halted all large groups activities. If you have questions regarding groups, please contact the coordinator for up to date information. These activities include but are not limited to Chapel services, Whole Health events, Caregiver Support program events, and all recreation services events.

Visitors
Visitors are not permitted on campus at this time. This includes, but is not limited to, family, friends, personal rides, and taxi-like services. Veterans entering the campus are permitted one escort or guest. These restrictions extend to our residential programs located in the domiciliary facilities, Grant and Per Diem Programs, and Community Living Center (CLC). The only exception is for family members of hospice patients who coordinate approval with the CLC staff in advance.
